Color Change

SO2 tube : Yellowish green Yellow
H2S tube : White Dark brown

Reaction Formula

SO2 tube:Sulfur dioxide reacts with barium chloride to liberate
hydrogen chloride to discolor the pH indicator to yellow.

H2S tube:
Hydrogen sulfide reacts with lead acetate
to form lead sulfide, which color is brown.

Coefficient of Variation

SO2 tube: 10% (for 0.5 to 2 ppm), 5% (for 2 to 10 ppm)
H2S tube:10% (for 2.5 to 10 ppm), 5% (for 10 to 60 ppm)

Shelf Life 3 Years
